ODYSSEUS ELYTIS LESVOS

"Nowhere else in the world, the sun and the moon do not reign so harmoniously, they do not share their power so fairly, as much as on this piece of land that once, who knows, in what incredible times, what god, to have fun, cut and blew away this maple leaf in the middle of the sea. " Odysseus Elytis

Lesvos Island

Lesvos is a Greek island in the northeastern Aegean. It is the third largest island in Greece after Crete and Evia, with an area of 1,636 sq.km. and a coastline of 459 km. It has a population of 85,330 inhabitants, according to the 2011 Census. Administratively it belongs to the Lesvos Regional Unit of the North Aegean Region. It is located opposite the Turkish coast. It is a fertile island, overgrown with pines and olive groves, with changes of scenery along the land. About 11,000,000 olive trees grow on Lesvos, creating a continuous, large olive grove. It has two bays. The biggest is Kalloni bay, famous for her sardines, and the smaller is that of Gera. Lesvos is full of geological monuments, as well as areas of natural beauty and ecological value. The monument that stands out on the island is the Fossil Forest, which has been designated a natural monument (UNESCO World Heritage site). In addition, the island of Lesvos has a variety of archaeological sites and monuments, which with their beauty have been a source of inspiration for artists, painters, writers and poets. The city of Mytilini (hence the other common name of the island), is located at the southeastern tip of the island and on seven hills. As a modern city, a commercial, economic and spiritual center with a population of 27,871 inhabitants, it is the capital of the island. Located at Mytilini are: the University of the Aegean, the Regional Unit of Lesvos and the North Aegean Region, as well as the Ministry of the Aegean. Important towns of the island are Plomari, Agiasos, Polichnitos, Agia Paraskevi, Kalloni, Eresos, and Mesotopos . Lesvos is considered the homeland of ouzo, due to the extensive involvement of the inhabitants with the distillery. Several well-known ouzo brands come from the island. The island is also famous for the Kalloni sardines (papalina), the olive oil, but also the yogurt and cheese (ladotyri, feta) products. In September 2012, the entire island of Lesvos joined the UNESCO World Geoparks Network.

Golden Visa

The Golden Visa for Greece is one of the most popular investment visa programs in the EU. It is a residence-by-investment visa, issued to non-EU citizens who make a significant contribution to the Greek economy. There are several investment options, but the most common route is through purchasing real estate worth at least a quarter of a million. Golden Visas issued by the EU Member States such as Greece are especially coveted, as they may eventually lead to citizenship and thus access to the EU. The Greece Golden Visa offers immediate five-year residency to the investor as well as their immediate family members, as well as free travel in the Schengen Zone.
